Ex-Traditions
Muslim Brotherhood-Connected Attorney General Politicizing and Weaponizing Extraditions
Could Greg Abbott turn Keith Ellison’s extradition demand back on Minnesota—and expose a glaring double standard over interstate crime, abortion drugs and federal law? Alex Newman of Liberty Sentinel and CompassCare CEO Jim Harden say the Texas governor has an opportunity to make a much larger point about whether states can selectively demand extradition while refusing to cooperate with another state’s criminal prosecution.
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has very disturbing connections to the Muslim Brotherhood through various groups under that umbrella and who many believe warrants a terrorist organization designation. Ellison is seeking the extradition of ICE agent Christian Castro from Texas to Minnesota, where Castro faces criminal charges stemming from an alleged January shooting in Minneapolis. Ellison has sued Texas Gov. Greg Abbott after Texas declined to surrender Castro, escalating the dispute into a showdown over interstate extradition and state sovereignty. Castro has been charged with four counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon and falsely reporting a crime.
